I know Dingbat fonts aren’t the most popular. A lot of them are, well, pretty unhelpful. But, there are also a lot of very cool Dingbat fonts out there that can be used for a variety of things. Ornaments, decoration, patterns, silhouettes and much more. The cool thing about them, is you can convert to outlines, and you’ve got yourself a very cool vector to play with.
I personally use the ornament and decoration type dingbats a lot to enhance typography and things like that. They can be very, very useful. So here is a list of 46 Dingbat fonts that can be used for all sorts of things. Enjoy!

Very interesting post, I like the decorative styles. However, I came to add that I cannot advise enough against using fonts such as VT Mei Ornaments. They result in nothing more than gibberish, and exist for nearly any set of characters. For some prime examples of exactly why using such fonts is not only foolish but potentially harmful, see http://www.hanzismatter.com/ – it’s not unusual to see a tattoo or merchandise made from this nonsense!

awesome set of resources! thank you for sharing this and doing the research for us all to discover. i will definitely be referencing this time to time.
i just want to add, another excellent resource / place for typography is http://www.pilo.me – it by far is the most complete and solid font forum i have visited. you can definitely find similar resources as you have mentioned here at pilo. anyhow, give it a look if you are a type lover. i think it is invite only or it usually is at least, so good luck getting in. if you do get in, be sure to participate as i know they remove deadbeat users time to time.
