Hey Nick great post, in particular the tweet about 40 Inspiring Examples of Dark Websites caught my attention. This is a great resource and starting point for someone looking to design and create a dark looking site. One of the main things when working on a dark site to watch out for is legibility of text, I find clever letter spacing and line height can make or break a site using this style.
